If the vast majority of prehistoric sites are in the Vézère valley, including the famous caves of Lascaux II and IV, we also find some of them a few kms away from the cottage (Caves of Cougnac, Domme).
THE MOST BEAUTIFUL VILLAGES
In the Sarlat area, there are no less than 10 villages classified among the most beautiful villages in France: Belvès, Beynac-et-Cazenac, Castelnaud-La-Chapelle, Domme, La Roque-Gageac, Limeuil, Monpaziert, Saint-Amand Coly, Saint-Jean-de-Col, Saint-Leon-sur-Vezere, ETC;
... and many other prestigious sites such as the village of Rocamadour and the Gouffre de Padirac both located at 30 miles from the cottage:
